Pysae is able to control the Passenger Information System (PIS) on board vehicles via a wireless connection based on the use of a WIFI/4G router.

This allows the driver's entry into service on the SAEIV to be shared with the SIV. This limits the number of manipulations the driver has to make on the on-board systems, and saves drivers precious time.

💡Principle

Pooling the driver's service entry means that the service entry can be transmitted directly via Pysae to the Lumiplan VMS.

The information needed to operate the Lumiplan SIV is thus transmitted by the SAEIV: Pysae sends the SIV an "SIV code", a unique identifier attached to a journey that enables it to be recognised.

Automating the sending of SIV codes by Pysae makes the operation of the various systems more reliable and reduces the risk of errors.

🔍Technical requirements

You must have the following equipment:

  • Lumiplan Pilot Box SIV calculator

  • Lumiplan Pilot console

  • Smartphone or tablet

  • Mounting bracket

  • Data connection

  • 4G Wifi router (to act as a gateway between the various on-board equipment)

📝Transport plan and required fields

Make sure that your transport plans (in GTFS format) are identical in your Pysae and Lumiplan solutions. You can retrieve the GTFS published in Pysae via the Transport Plan API.

GTFS fields required to communicate between Pysae and Lumiplan

  • Direction_id

  • Stop_Sequence

  • Stop_id

  • Trip_id

💻Configuration in Pysae

1/ Setup

Go to the "Integrations" tab at the bottom left.

Click on the "Activate" box in the section corresponding to Lumiplan.

2/ Choose the type

In the "Type" box, select "TCP/IP". The TCP/IP port to specify depends on your Internet Service Provider (ISP). You should contact your ISP to obtain this information. The default setting is 3838.

3/ Select the GTFS field

The GTFS field is the element transmitted by Pysae to Lumiplan that identifies the service performed by the driver and therefore enables the SIV to be launched on the corresponding service. We provide several fields (from the GTFS) to exchange with Lumiplan. You can choose the code according to your topology and your specific needs.

4/ Router auto-configuration

You can configure the router automatically. To do this, click on the corresponding button.

Here, you need to enter the username and password given to you by your router supplier.

To complete the operation, click on the "Save" button.

5/ Top-heel code for the SIV console

Finally, in the "Settings" tab, then "Driver application", you can enter the code corresponding to the toe-in phases as set up in your Lumiplan FSS management tool.

Don't forget to click on the "Save" button.

🚍On-board configuration

Your Pilotbox Lumiplan computer must be connected with an Ethernet cable to a 4G-LTE wifi router.

Your 4G-LTE wifi router must have a SIM card with a data subscription (in this configuration it is not necessary to put a SIM card in the Pysae smartphone or tablet).

Your Pysae smartphone or tablet must be connected to the 4G-LTE wifi router.

The IP address (e.g. 10.0.0.55) and gateway (e.g. 10.0.0.1) for the Pysae smartphone or tablet on this network must be set to the "Provider" value configured on the Pilotbox calculator. This is a fixed IP definition.

✅ Finalisation and verification

As soon as your Pysae smartphone/tablet is connected to the 4G-LTE wifi router, the connection with the Pilot console is established. Any errands performed on Pysae are automatically transmitted to the console.

You can check the status of the connection with the computer on your device at any time from the settings menu.
