Introduction

In this article you will find all the information you need to manage your tracks in Pysae.

Here's what you need to know:

  • Create a route linked to a service

  • Delete a route

  • Viewing or modifying a route

  • Create a route without a service

  • Delete unused routes

Reminder: if you want to modify an existing plan that is in use or in production ("Active" or "Completed" status), first duplicate it (to do this, refer to the "Duplicating a transport plan" section of this article) and apply the modifications to the duplicate, then publish it.

Creating a route linked to a service

Before you start creating a new route linked to a service, you need to have first created or updated your service.

To create a service, please refer to this article.

Once the service has been created, go to the view of your transport plans (Resources > Transport plan), select the plan concerned ("Draft" status) then click on the "Lines" tab. Select the line concerned, then the service.

Click on the three small dots next to the service identifier, then choose "Create a new route".

Enter the route identifier in the pop-up window that has just opened.

The route is automatically generated by following the route and taking into account the sequence of stops.

Remember:

A route that starts before the first stop will cause problems with the automatic start of the trip. The route must therefore start strictly from the first stop.

Go back to the list of your services to see that your new route has been created!

Delete a route

Go to the view of your transport plans (Resources > Transport plan), select the plan concerned (status "Draft") then click on the "Routes" tab. Select a route by clicking on an item in the list or by selecting it on the map. Then, in the details menu, click on the bin at the bottom right.

You will be asked to confirm that you wish to delete the route. Confirm. Your route has now been deleted.

View or modify a route

Go to the view of your transport plans (Resources > Transport plan), select the plan concerned (status "Draft") then click on the "Tracks" tab. Select a route by clicking on an item in the list or by selecting it on the map.

A menu with detailed information about the route will open and the route will be highlighted on the map.

You can check :

  • The route identifier

  • The line to which it is assigned

  • Its length in kilometers

  • You can change the route manually.

The editable route is represented by a white line with a red outline on the map. Zoom in to see that it is a succession of straight segments and control points (white dots).

You can :

  • Delete control points by right-clicking on one

  • Add a control point by clicking on the translucent dots

When you move a control point, you can choose whether or not to follow the roads.

By default, route tracking is enabled. You can deactivate it by unchecking the corresponding option in the menu on the left (this allows you, for example, in the case of a one-off diversion, to follow a route on a traffic lane that is usually off-limits).

With "Follow the roads" activated, the route is modified by following the roads and their obligations. This allows you to quickly generate a route based on the road network.

If you are modifying the route manually, without Road Tracking enabled, you will need to create intermediate points (translucent points) and then move these points (by holding down and dragging) so that they are on the desired road segment.

To delete all the points on the route, click on the "Delete all points" button.

You can also automatically define a route that passes through all the stops by clicking on the "Reset route to pass through all stops" button.

Finally, click on the "Save" button to save your changes.

Creating a route without a service

We recommend that you add routes from your services (refer to the "Create a route linked to a service" section of this article to find out how).

Go to the view of your transport plans (Resources > Transport plan), select the plan concerned (status "Draft") then click on the "Routes" tab. Finally, click on the "Add a route" button.

Define the route identifier and its itinerary by clicking on the white dots on the map (representing your stops), then click on "Save".

Delete unused routes

Following updates to a transport plan, it often happens that certain routes become useless, i.e. they are no longer served by any journeys.

Pysae offers you a quick way of deleting all these unused routes.

To do this, go to the view of your transport plans (Resources > Transport plan) and select the plan concerned (status 'Draft'). If you have any unused routes, an alert will appear on the "Routes" line in the summary table. Click on this alert.

This takes you to the list of errors and alerts in the transport plan. In the "Tracks" section, a message tells you if you have any unused tracks. Click on them. A drop-down menu opens showing you the list of stops concerned. Click on the "Delete unused routes" button at the bottom of this list.

A pop-up window will open asking you to confirm the operation. Click on "Delete". The routes have disappeared, along with the alert.
